 Most of us love castles, they let the imagination run riot - especially when they become ruins. Old Cromwell had a lot to answer for.

Re-enactments provide us photographers with great opportunities.

A Victorian gentleman bought the ruins of Caldicot Castle and built himself a mansion against the gatehouse - top right picture.
