Hon. FNPSA (Sri Lanka), Hon. M.DSAFiTA (Poland)Fritz SHIH was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, on April 27, 1936, graduated from School of Pharmacy, College of Medicine, National Taiwan University. A retired pharmacist, he has held numerous positions in the Photographic Society of Taipei (PST) for the past 28 years, including General Chairman of Taipei International Salon of Photography, Publisher & General Editor of the "PHOTO TAIPEI", the monthly photo journal of the PST, judge of Taipei Salon and Taipei International Salon, founder and organizer of Taipei International Photo-Exhibition, organizer of Publication Exhibition in "PHOTO TAIPEI" for international photo-works.
He has been active in international affairs for the PST for 22 years. Now he is the Hon. General Chairman of Taipei International Salon of Photography, General Chairman of International Photographic Exchange, Representative of Austrian International KKL-Bilderbank in Taiwan, Representative of German IIWF in Taiwan, PSA IR of Taiwan, one of the Founders of the Four International Photo-Sister-Cities: Taipei, Taiwan; Kyoto, Japan; Linz, Austria and Kulmbach, Germany.
His personal achievements as a skilled photographer are in macro, landscape, portrait and nude photography.
He is one of the bridge builders of international photographic exchange and has established international photo-friendship and awarded many international honorary titles. He has organized “The Taipei International Photo-Exhibition” and invited 188 international photo-groups and photographers from 45 countries to provide 5,647 prints to be exhibited in Taipei, TAIWAN in the last 13 years (1992 – 2004). In the meantime, his photo-works have been exhibited in 19 countries and illustrated in "objectif" of Belgium and "Magazyn Fotograficzny" of Poland.
He organized the “1st Photo-Exhibition of the Four International Photo-Sister-Cities 2001” and the “1st Photo-Exhibition of the Best of PSA Country Representatives 2002”, which were held at the National Gallery of Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Taipei, Taiwan.
