Frank's interest in photography started in 1960 and he has won medals in national and international exhibitions for colour prints, colour slides and audio-visual programmes.
Among his achievements was second place in the Agfa Wildlife awards, and in 1996 he won the PSA gold medal for being the most successful colour slide nature photographer in the Austrian Super Circuit.
In 2000 he won the FIAP gold medal for the best nature print in the FIAP Biennial competition in Finland. He was awarded an EFIAP in 2005.
Frank is always willing to share his knowledge and expertise and has lectured extensively at clubs and photographic congresses. He is a regular judge at national and international salons in the colour slide, print and audio-visual divisions.
He was a member of the judging panel of the International Austrian Super Circuit Salon in 1997, 1998, 2000, 2002 and 2004.
Frank holds fellowships in colour slides, colour prints and audio-visual.
He is past President of the Photographic Society of Southern Africa and for his dedication to photography, he was awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the Society in 1999.
