THE BEGINNING by MARIA SALVADOR

During the first 55 years of my life I only took photos for the family album, especially when my son was a child.
But in 2002 I bought a little 2.3 megapixel Sony and acquired a new passion. I taught myself from books, magazines and photographic websites, particularly from Photocritique.net.
At the same time as I fell in love with photography I was captivated by the creativity allowed by programs such as Photoshop. I find that half the fun is in the camera, and the other half is in the computer. I shoot now with an Olympus E-3.
What do I like to photograph? I do like to take candid portraits in the street, though I have not yet delved into portraiture. I love taking flowers and architectural details which strike a special chord in my photographic mind...
Recently I began sending photos to magazines, several of which have been published.
