Born : 02 July 1961, Republic of Mauritius.
Nationality : Mauritian
Started photography (seriously) in 1979 at secondary school by joining the photographic society newly set up. After school, continued practising on my own, learning through books and magazines and making errors (and errors and errors) ... In 1985, joined the only existing photographic club of the island, the then "Association de l'Art Photographique de l'Ile Maurice", now "Cercle des Artistes Photographes".
Member of the executive committee the following years and in 1988, became president of the club. Have held this position since, with a one-year break in 1998.
Have successfully taken part in local and international competitions. My very first international award was an Honourable Mention at the 14th FIAP Colour Print Biennal held in Japan in 1988. Other successes have followed, including acceptances in other international salons. In December 2002, was awarded the AFIAP distinction from the International Federation for the Photographic Art (FIAP). In 2007, was awarded EFIAP distinction from the International Federation for the Photographic Art (FIAP).
