Aldo Basili began taking black and white journalistic photographs in 1990 and only some years later diversified into colour. Now he specialises in the photographic interpretation of abstract concepts.

A dynamic and eclectic author, he has, in only eight years, achieved some important international honours in FIAP competitions.

He was awarded AFIAP in 2002 and won an individual FIAP Gold medal in the 2004 Exhibition in Luxembourg. To date he has over 500 acceptances and 36 prizes in International competitions.

He was awarded his first PSA star in Colour Slides in 2000 and his second in 2002. He has also earned a star with his Nature and Travel pictures

He has held a number of personal exhibitions and has contributed to more than a hundred in other parts of the world.

He is a careful observer and moves easily between journalistic reality, in which he has had many successes, and images that blend art with photography.

He is a member of the renouned "Società Fotografica Subalpina" of Turin, founded in 1899 and the oldest photographic society still active in Italy.

The cameras he uses are NIKON F90X, and F100 - with a range of lenses. He also has a CONTAX, an old ROLLEI , a CANON SUB, a LEICA and a little digital PANASONIC Lumix (5.Mp)
