Santoso Alimin 

Born in Madiun, Indonesia in 1936 he has been exposed to the world of photography since the age of 8 in his parents' photo printing workshop.

He began taking photos at the age of 16 using a "Box Brownie" Camera, later assisting professional photographers and taking wedding photos.

It was only in 1965 that he turned Professional and explored further into the Art of Photography. Since 1976, has won many awards from various associations and countries.

From 1977 to 1982, was recognised by the Photographic Society of America as one of the Top 10 International Exhibitors in the Colour Print Category. He was also the judge for Asia Salon in Singapore in 1983 and has been the Judge for the annual Salon Foto Indonesia ever since.

He never stops improving and developing himself. In June 1988 he further advanced his skill in photography at "The Fuji Technical Communicaiton Center" in Tokyo.

Santoso Alimin is also founder of Yayasan Fotografi Surabaya (YFS) and Nusantara Photo Club (NPC), and currently is the Chairman of Nusantara Photo Club.
